Suzanne Hart
YA Fiction Writer
Suzanne Hart wrote her first book at the age of eleven, having realised that life in books is a lot more interesting than the real alternative. She has worked as a chef in a pizza restaurant, in cinemas, for a fast food chain and as a sales assistant in a teenage fashion shop but is now a primary school teacher after gaining her degree from Durham University. Throughout all that, she has never stopped writing, usually whilst eating cherry-flavoured sweets.
She’s married, has two young children, two cats and a very disobedient Miniature Dachshund. You might also spot her on track with Durham Roller Derby as her alter-ego, Jinkx Monsooz.
Suzanne left Norfolk for the north-east and Durham 18 years ago, mostly due to watching Byker Grove as a child. When she’s not scribbling furiously in notebooks, you’ll find her at a pop-punk gig, knitting or watching anything with The Rock in it.
Ice Cream and Indie Music is her first novel.
Suzanne’s Favourite Ice Cream Flavours:
- Oatmeal Cookie Chunk (RIP)
